The monastery is situated in the western part of the town, on the hill. It was founded in 1536. It ensemble was fully finished in XVI–XVII centuries. The unique «pearl» of it is the three-dome Church of the Virgin Lady Hodegetria (1630). In 1650 the stone temple with the dinning-room and the chapel was erected. The remained buildings of the Church of John the Forerunner were restored in 1970-1980..
